Ebay Finds Every College Girl Needs

By Amanda Tejuca on October 7, 2015

As college students, chances are that we do not go shopping as much as we would like. We have other expenses now that we did not have when we lived at home. Now we have to worry about buying food, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, and the list is never-ending. For us fashionable but poor college girls, the struggle is real.

It turns out that Ebay has a huge assortment of inexpensive staples you can add to your wardrobe and for ridiculously reasonable prices. The only downside to ordering from Ebay is that it might take up to 3 weeks for the shipment to be delivered, but if you have an extra $5 a week it does not hurt to invest in one of the following items. I think the wait is worth it because most high end boutiques and stores probably buy from these same suppliers and just boost up the prices for profit, so the amount of money that could be saved is astounding. These are some inexpensive Ebay finds that every college girl needs to know about.

1. Crop tops

Crop tops could either be basic or fancy, and although some are skeptical about them, they can be styled in ways that suit anyone’s preferences. They could be worn with high rise shorts, pants, or skirts, and for the daring—low-rise bottoms as well. The array of crop tops on Ebay is incredible. Some are even less than two dollars, and you don’t have to worry about waiting to make bids, as most of them are available with the “buy it now“ option. Many of these crop tops are found in high end boutiques for inflated prizes. I can personally vouch for buying crop tops on Ebay, and I have not had any problems with them so far in terms of sizing or quality.

2. Bralettes

The bralette became a fashion staple a few years ago, when they first appeared in stores like urban outfitters. Once strictly considered an undergarment, they are now a bold style favorite. They can be paired with almost anything—under dresses, baggy shirts, button downs, etc. You could almost get six different Ebay-priced bralettes for the price of one from Urban outfitters ($30 on average).

3.Crochet Tops

Crochet tops are a new trend that couples well with the present day bohemian Coachella-esque style. These make a statement with a printed maxi skirt or palazzo pants, or even high waisted shorts. Before I found them on Ebay, I was hesitant about buying one because of the ridiculous prices. On etsy.com they could go for as much as sixty dollars. You could avoid falling into this trap with this amazing find.

4. Workout attire

Workout pants are amongst the most expensive items of clothing to shop for. Brand names like Nike workout pants and leggings are known to break the bank. With these fashionable leggings, you can simultaneously save money and avoid the “freshman 15”, or the college 15 in general. No one will ever know that they were cheaper than a Chipotle meal. There are also shorts and sports bras for about the same price, to complete the entire gym outfit. At least this is a fashion trend that will never go out of style because the being fit and healthy wave is here to stay.

5. Scarves

As the cold weather approaches, it is smart to invest in something that will not only keep you warm but will spruce up your fall/winter attire. Add a pop of color with an infinity scarf that is easy to put on—which differentiates it from a regular scarf that you have to twist and turn and who really knows how to put one on anyways. Infinity scarves are seen in almost every store like Forever 21, H&M, and Urban Outfitters, as a necessity for the cold. Of course, none of them are as economical as these.
