Become A Time Management Expert With Tips From Cengage Learning: Part Two
Are you a time management master? Most of us struggle with time management in college due to all of our academic and social responsibilities.
Cengage Learning recently unveiled best practices on improving grades through time management in a two-part article series, as told in a recent press release, which can help you change your habits and build your time management skills.
Earlier tips from Part 1 included making a schedule, taking advantages of small chunks of time and studying smarter.
In Part 2 of their article series, Cengage Learning offered a few more tips for success.
Utilize digital tools. Most educational resources include a digital component nowadays that features tools and resources to maximize your success and engagement. Many digital tools, like Cengage Learning’s digital learning solution MindTap, use a combination of reading, multimedia, activities and assessments to engage users and maximize understanding and retention.
In addition, MindTap includes features like scheduling, notifications and messaging to help you stay organized and on top of deadlines. Make sure to take advantage of the digital resources available to you and use them early in the semester rather than later. (Studies show, students that use MindTap get better grades than those that do not.)
Iron out your priorities. Take stock of all the different activities, commitments and responsibilities that make up your day-to-day life. Look at the big picture to identify priorities and cut unnecessary activities out temporarily. Then, you can more easily identify the priorities that are most important and make sure they take precedence over less pressing commitments.
Organization is key. Avoid unexpected interruption by getting organized. Make sure you have all the resources and tools you need to complete assignments before you study. Don’t get a groove going only to realize you’re missing a textbook or computer charger.
Don’t forget to have fun! Students who effectively manage their time tend to have more time for socializing and fun since they aren’t wasting time procrastinating or being unproductive. Schedule some free time each week to maintain high levels of productivity and upkeep your overall happiness.
Give your study routine a fresh boost this semester by tackling time management issues. Take advantage of Cengage Learning’s tips and you’ll be on your way to becoming a time management expert!
